People may become a Heritage Society member by making an outright or a deferred gift to the council endowment fund.

Heritage Society members can make gifts either outright or as a deferred gift starting at gifts of $1,000 outright through stocks, cash, securities or a pledge paid over a year and may qualify for a James E. West Fellowship. Other awards exist for outright gifts over $1,000.

Deferred gifts may be in the form of life insurance, bequest, annuities, trusts.
